What got you into this business in the first place?
As a young girl I developed a series of stories for a super-hero I created named “Banana Man,” where I chronicled his amazing tales of super-stardom as he flew around in his big banana costume saving children and animals with his tell-tale yellow cape flowing behind him. My little brother sat in wide-eyed wonder next to me, deliciously savoring every word about Banana Man’s latest adventure. Obviously I had a knack for story-telling.

I started my “real” career in newspapers as a reporter and then wrote for and edited a university publication. From there it was a natural progression into PR.

Who was a big influence in your career?
My dad, who knew I loved to write and urged me to join the high school newspaper staff.

What was “your finest moment,” the thing you’re most proud of?
The days my kids were born.

What was your most embarrassing moment in this business?
Performing a solo (lip synched) rendition of Justin Bieber’s “Baby” dressed as the boy wonder himself on a dance floor in front of 100+ of my colleagues at an employee Halloween party. I can neither confirm nor deny that there were Jello shots involved.

What attracted you to AIR?
Everyone has a voice.

Do you have a method for coming up with ideas and solutions for clients?
If I didn’t, I’d be in big trouble…

What makes a great brand?
Staying power. Resonance.

What driving career goals do you still have?
Writing and publishing a book.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned about advertising?
There are no limits to thinking outside the box.

What talent do you wish you had?
Fitting everything I need to get done in just 24 hours.

Is there any food that helps you think more creatively?
Chocolate

What are your plans for after advertising?
Writing the great American novel, ideally on a beach somewhere. And baking (and eating) lots of cupcakes.

What’s your favorite TV program?
Everyday Italian on the Food Network

Least favorite?
I have never watched an episode of Jersey Shore. It just doesn’t seem right.

What’s your point of view about politics?
I’ve got to plead the fifth on this one…

What do you do for a good time when you’re not working?
Cook, read, and hang out with my family and friends

Do you have any kids?
Two, but some days it feels like 20!

What was college like for you?
A little jarring, coming from a tiny high school in a small town to one of the largest universities in the country.

What are your favorite internet sites?
I’m a news and food junkie: washingtonpost.com, cnn.com, msnbc.com, foodnetwork.com, ericeatsout.com.

What is your theme song?
Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi”
